I believe all people have the capacity to make reasonable changes in their lives if they are focused and supported in their goals. As a counselor, my job is to come along side of you as a guide or coach in your change-making journey. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over over 10 years of experience working in community mental health and private practice settings. I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in 2007 with a Master of Science in Community Counseling. I enjoy counseling both adolescents (age 12+) and adults on an individual basis. I work with trauma and abuse victims as well as people suffering with Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Grief and Loss Issues, Adjustment Disorders and other issues. I am also a Level II trained EMDR clinician and have been providing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Therapy since 2009. EMDR can be a helpful for individuals struggling with trauma, anxiety, phobias, and some forms of depression. In addition to EMDR, I use a variety of counseling methods tailored to suit each of my clients’ individualized needs.

Within each of us is a part that intuitively knows healing, forgiveness, compassion and understanding. I believe my job as your counselor is to help you connect with that part of yourself so you can heal your own wounds. In our work together, I will come alongside you to examine what keeps you stuck by using a blend of Internal Family Systems, CBT, psychoeducation, and strengths-based approaches.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have experience working with individuals, groups, and families. I also have direct training and experience with depression, anxiety, grief, domestic violence, trauma/abuse, and relational issues.

I began my journey of helping others over 15 years ago after earning my undergraduate degree in Social Work. Since that time, I have worked with individuals and families impacted by the effect of abuse and neglect, including issues related to substance abuse and trauma. I recently returned to school and earned my master’s degree in counseling from Northwest Nazarene University in 2018, with a specialization in marriage, couple, and family counseling.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have training and experience working with adults and children impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. I have also worked with couples and families experiencing interpersonal stressors related to communication problems, infidelity, and parent/child conflict. I take a trauma-informed and systemic approach to therapy by integrating models such as Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method, and Trauma-Informed CBT. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, an evidence-based technique used for trauma, anxiety, and phobias.

Counseling is about striving for progress, not perfection. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 19 years of experience as a professional in both social work and counseling settings.  I currently provide counseling services for individuals (teens through adults), couples, and groups. I believe in making sure there is a good fit between the client and counselor and empowering people through focusing on their own inner strengths and abilities. I recognize that each person is unique in their own way and through the therapeutic process we will find what best helps you as an individual. I use a variety of therapy techniques to address problems. I have been providing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) therapy for an often times quicker approach to trauma, anxiety, and stress for 11 years with high success rates. I am also certified in hypnotherapy, and have extensive training in trauma focused-CBT, and a variety of other techniques. I am able to supervise professionals as a registered clinical supervisor.
